Rob is the principal of Allen & Associates, which he founded in 2013 after a long legal career in both
the private and corporate sectors.
Rob holds the degree of LLB (Hons) (Melbourne), as well as a Post Graduate Diploma in Corporate
Finance (Swinburne).
Rob has been both a general counsel to a multi-national listed company as well as a partner in and a
consultant to a well-known Melbourne legal law firm which now operates under the name DLA Piper.
Rob continues to be a consultant in the corporate department at DLA Piper, providing expert guidance
and assistance as required.
Rob’s career experience is well matched to the demands of preparing integrated, practical, and tax
effective wills and estate plans for clients. There may also be business, trust or superannuation entities to be dealt with.
At the same time, Rob has an extensive experience in equity, trust and will matters. This is essential
when drafting complex wills. There may often be particular family circumstances to address which
could comprise the position concerning second spouses, children with health or other issues, or the
prospect of a challenge to the distribution regime set out in the will.
During his career, Rob has acted for a number of corporate and commercial clients, several of whom
continue to be clients of Allen & Associates. In that role he provides business structuring advice,
drafts commercial and corporate agreements, and provides advice on matters concerning corporate
secretarial matters and ASIC lodgements. He also acts for parties in the acquisition of or disposal of
companies or businesses.
In his spare time, Rob enjoys cycling, and overseas travel. As a lifelong St Kilda supporter, he lives
in hope of seeing another Saints premiership in somewhat less time than has elapsed since the last one.
