Powers of Attorney
We prepare Enduring Powers of Attorney which are commonly described as either ‘Financial’ or ‘Medical Treatment’ powers.
The law on this subject is under revision.
The Powers of Attorney Act 2014 (Vic) now covers matters that were previously dealt with under the ‘Financial’ category, but also now can deal with matters relating to guardianship.
There is currently legislation before the Victorian parliament to revise the regime currently applying under the Medical Treatment Act 1988 (Vic).
